| My favorite dinosaur is Utahraptor, and my favorite fish is the Blue Marlin. If anyone has question, comments, or would like to have a conversation about either dinosaurs or fish, it would be my honor. Im always open to any new information or thoughts. | |

| Ah yes, the mighty famous Tyrannosaurus Rex. I remember reading somewhere about a hypothesis saying they had a "toxic" bite like the one of a Komodo Dragon, but haven't heard if it was confirmed. I think it it's not true but we can get into that if someone would like. And yes, very obvious =P They are such a beautiful fish. My guess would be a lion fish, all though there are numerous other colorful deadly fish. Pretty wicked looking fish the lion fish. I heard the are being found off the coast of Flordia a little while ago also. | |

| Largest fish ever caught was a whale shark in nets im guessing. On rod and reel i heard it was a manta ray. Black and blue marlins get a lot larger then that. The males usually don't reach over 300 lbs, don't get me wrong thats still huge in my book, but the females get over 20 ft long. The blue marlin gets a bit larger then a black marlin and it has been said that people have hooked into blue marlins over 2500lbs. Around 2500 lbs is record I believe. | |

| Thank you I may know some, but not close to a small fraction of everything that's out there. I've been snorkeling down in the Flordia Keys a few times and it's like a raindow of colors on thoses reefs. Too bad the coral themselfs are dying from pollution. The reefs support so much life. Snapper, barricuda, grouper, sharks, parrot fish, and many others. My dad said he has seem sailfish out there before just swimming around with their sail above the water line. It's just amazing to see such vivid wildlife in one spot. And yes, lion fish are pretty cool =P I know a decent site that has basic information about dinosaurs if anyone else would like to post (dinodictionary.com). A great book on Utahraptor is called Raptor Red. It's about the life of a Utahraptor by Robbert T. Bakker. It is a great book if anyone is interested in Dromaeosaurs (raptors) and how we believe they would of acted. | |

| I had one about twice my size swimming below me in the keys. Just glad it wasen't hungry! =P It was probably a Nurse shark, they aren't aggresive unless you piss them off. Last summer i learned how to fly fish It's not difficult at all really, just need to practice. I know for the past year or so there was a lot of debates on Megaraptor, which turned out to not be a dromaeosaur, but similar to Baryonyx ( large claw on hand and not on foot, and most likely ate fish). Anyone else besides Chris and Kento like dinosaurs or fish? | |

| It really depends on what type of rod and what size fly line. The heavier rods for tarpon and small billfish and huge but the regular freshwater ones like mine aren't heavy at all. Once you get the technque down, you barley move your arms. After awhile like anything I do get tired but it can take hours. The fly line is heavier then regular line and it acts sort of like a whip and instead of fighting with the line, you just work with the weight and use the rod to lead the line out. And yes Kento, the sucker fish do look weird but they are pretty cool =P Speaking of freshwater, during the winter break I wanted to go catch a carp, but it never really happened. The wind was blowing around 10 knots and the lake was just too ruff to fish at. Did my homework on carp though =P The ones at the lake are about 20 lbs I bet. | |

| Finally someone new posting =P Thanks for your post And Triceratops, very nice pick. They are pretty amazing. I've read some information on them before and they are truely one of the most interesting dinosaurs. Also The gold Koi look very pretty. I believe thoses fish are pretty intelligent. Also pretty amazing how they take goulps of air when the oxygen in the water is low. And Chris, I learnt much about both fish and dinosaurs from books, articles, web sites, and debate threads. Some of my knowlegde for fish can only be attained from actually being out on the water in their habitat though. One thing that really shocked me is that fish have their own special personality from others of the same species. It's very interesting really. Also a few good sites to learn about dinosaurs are http://www.sciencedaily.com/news/fossils_ruins/dinosaurs/ and http://www.newscientist.com/topic/dinosaurs. It's quiet amazing what you can find on both fish and dinosaurs, but I wouldn't put too much faith in one source. But the answer to your question is study and from there you can make your own hypothesis which is the fun part and can debate about them =P And aye, i do wish to become a paleontologist when i get older. | |

| A paleontologist is someone who studies past life. That covers not just dinosaurs, but life from the beginning all the way up to a couple thousand years ago, even though yesterday would be counted as the past =P | |

| I can't wait till theses cold fronts stop pounding us and the tides become normal again. My father and I should be running offshore when it does =D Hopefully will catch some nice grouper and snapper. I believe it was three weeks ago, we were fishing by Skyway and bottlenose dolphins were stealing fish from other fishermen along with us. I was ticked off at first, but when i started to think about it, it's sad. The dolphin are eating the fish whole, which means they are eating the hooks and mono too. The hooks will snag in the stomach and the mono don't be digested. Then i started thinking about who I've been fishing and barracuda or sharks have sliced my fish right behind the head (where the hook is), so in a sense, they are smarter then the dolphin. Another sad thing i saw was that the adult dolphin were teaching theier baby how to steal the fish also. I was reading how they are finding dolphin washed up on beaches dead because of hooks(snaged in their stomach, very painful) and other fishing equipment such as line and sinkers. It's very sad indeed. | |
